and that’s precisely why having the most prominent portrayal include a catchphrase like “Thank you, come again”—which the character might not utter much anymore, but you’ll find hard to remove from the pop lexicon—is hurtful and retrograde.

I think the big thing to establish is that she’s not obligated to reply, which I think we both probably agree on. When someone approaches a dev on Twitter, it’s not the same as approaching them at an official event or forums, and I think it’s fair to at least acknowledge that. It’s a different dynamic and while it’s

A major thing people seem to misunderstand is that Price is not speaking in an official capacity for the company while on Twitter. That’s a space where she is speaking as a private citizen. The idea that developers should on perpetual call to endure the various nitpicks and armchair design of enthusiasts and rabid

That last sentence needs to be engraved everywhere.

I have no idea who Sameer Deen is but I bet he’s an MBA suckass who doesn’t know anything about his actual product.

Yeah, I've been browsing the subreddit and the community's response is kind of gross to me, I didn't see first hand what was said but it's really weird to me how happy people seem about this.

“Earlier this week, two of our employees failed to uphold our standards of communication with our players and fans, and they are no longer with the company.”

You can’t cherry pick the tweets you need for your position and seal them in a vacuum.

I absolutely think firing Price was wrong (and firing Fries was absurd). However, a lot of Price’s quotes in this piece make her sound pretty naive:

It’s easy to point to Price’s original comment as “crossing the boundary” or unprofessional in the context of her job, but of course that’s not really the point for the people who wanted her fired.

I think, if this played out in a more sane way, she would have probably got a reprimand or something but probably no big deal. But once the GG mob picked it up and probably flooded every outward facing communications ArenaNet had.

Genuinely shocked about Fries. I can’t fathom how that warrented firing.

That is the companies’ fault. For years, they’ve treated our personal information haphazardly, instead of how it should be handled. They can’t adapt? Then they shouldn’t have our data in the first place. Don’t blame the EU. Blame big business and the standards they set for being so shitty.

No. That ship has sailed. Time to get over it.

Jontron said some stupid crap about immigrants and women, don’t remember seeing anything about n-words. I thing GhostofGhostDad was referring to the fact that the only time videogame personalities (in general) show up in the main-stream news these days when they say fucked up shit, and doswillrule assumed he was

I honestly don’t like a lot of the gaming Youtubers, but Game Grumps are pretty consistently funny. It helps that they actually have improv training.

He left on his own dumb terms about a year into that channel. They’ve been going for five years now without him and have gotten a lot more chill, even if they do suck ass at video games.

Good on the Game Grumps for not being in an article about how they dropped the n-bomb or thought that Hitler fellow had a few good ideas.

This was supposed to be the second half of the post, but I mis-hit a key.

What did you think was going to happen? You should have written
