I acknowledge this every time I see the inside of Fahey’s house in his videos with a bunch of tacky framed anime posters, even though I still do an eyeroll. Ditto for cheap framed Battletech posters I see in some gaming rooms when I’m watching streams.

“I gather there are some people who have wrapped up significant elements of their personality in this game”

Definitely. Ask people outside of your gaming group if they’ve heard of Kotaku and no one will respond with an affirmative. The chunk of people that participate in video gaming is a large minority of the general population, but the subset who actively seek out gaming journalism is quite small and recognition of gaming

Nooooooo! As an owner of a black car and a Knight Rider hummer myself, I have to say I’ve enjoyed owning a black car.  It definitely beats my last car which was grey. Never again grey!

It won’t be black for long.

Debadge to your heart’s content, it’s not going to change that black Leaf into KITT, no matter how hard you want it to

Twisted Metal and WipeOut! <3

I know it was rated as a pretty awful game but used to love Interstate 76

Totally agree on that. My friend and I spent many a night playing Blur, it was a really cool mix of a kart feel with powerups and arcade-y racing. I think there was only one iteration of it though. Would be nice to see a followup.

Yes! One of my favorite games on the PS2 was a game called Rumble Racing, which was basically Twisted Metal on linear tracks. Vigilante 8 was a favorite PC game of mine in the 90's, too.

The thing is man, none of the TSA’s efforts have actually made flying any safer. What they have done is inconvenienced everyone and provided a veneer of security to make you feel better because you got scared after 9/11. The underwear bomber, the shoe bomber, and a couple others have all made it through TSA or

I don’t like traditional racing games, but I had a lot of fun with games like Blur and Split/Second on the PS3 which were more combat focused. Assuming you’re also talking about stuff like Twisted Metal which would be cool to see again as well.

The system we had on September 10th 2001 combined with lockable cockpit doors, and actually have the office management in the Pentagon talk to each other. That would work. That actually would. Everything else is pure performance.

Why do we climb airplane wings?

I propose we go back to just having metal detectors, like back in the 90s. We have reinforced cockpit doors now and boarding pass checks at the gate. There is no reason for this TSA nonsense anymore.

This sounds a bit like you’re reading the facts to fit the narrative you’ve decided to run with

I have a Subaru Cadillac dealership about 3 blocks from my house

Apparently not high enough. He wanted to get much, much higher.

Takes time to identify all the drugs in their system. How high do you have to be to hump a plane’s wing though?

This is yet more confirmation that the TSA is not necessary. If a random person can get onto the wing of an aeroplane, then a terrorist can plant a bomb. Conclusion is that there are no terrorists attempting to bring down aeroplanes
