I said this before on another thread, and I'll say it here too. I completely and unapologetically adore this movie.
Wow. It doesn't take long before any conversation about Who online devolves into I hate the >insert show runner/writer/actor of choice here< it's such a shame. Personally I'm chuffed that the Doctor will be older again and Capaldi is great in everything he does. Those eyes damn it, what a wonderful mix of scary and…
When that opinion kicks off with "I hate X. so much", I applied exactly the amount of adult consideration it deserved.
I'm not as huge a fan of Moffat as I used to be, but I still prefer him to RTD's time on the show.
Yay, you! Doctor Who isn't flawless by any measure (nothing is), but don't let the arse-faced assassins of joy catch you! :)
Don't invoke crappy Sci-Fi movies in your good Sci-Fi TV show, unless you're actually going back in time to stop JJ from taking the reigns of the Star Trek franchise.
You damn kids don't know how good you have it!
Oh well, maybe in another life, brother.
Hope this helps.
Incarnations would be AWESOME!
If networks want to compete with GoT there is so much out there they can use. DUNE & Incarnations of Immortality come to mind as convertible to a 10-13 episode run per book.... & they're completed too!
I am very suspicious of TV fantasy outside of Game of Thrones. The armor usually looks like plastic and the settings like your own backyard (See Xena, Seeker and all that crap). I hope they can make it look cinematic, like Vikings.
All this talk on rip-offs makes me once more angry and pained to remember when "John Carter" came out and the comments of it "ripping off" Star Wars and Avatar rather than the fact Burroughs inspired every other sci-fi property out there.
Single, attractive, white woman meets mysterious white male who saves her while serving as her guide in a dangerous world she didn't know existed.
right...
You know something? Every time he says anything, you always say "Right"?
Right
That's a good movie.
