You are missing the MOST IMPORTANT thing about donations directly to politicians’ campaigns. There is a limit and it is very small - less than $3K per election cycle. Make no mistake, Weinstein was a big deal for the dems for 25 years, and not just for what he personally donated.

I lived in far western Kentucky for a total of 13 years and never heard it used like that before, but then that part of western Kentucky has southern accents so thick Jeff Foxworthy might be confused.
