Yeah, I was just sticking up for the cast since you mentioned 6th gen console emulation but left out my favorite lol.
What about Dreamcast?
Another gem from a game I haven't heard of or played. So glad these posts returned.
This.. I still allow myself to fall into it occasionally though. But the more I am there, I start to get depressed.
Sonic CD
I feel the exact opposite. I find 8/16 bit Mario to be boring (always did... I didn’t begin to love Mario games until the series went 3D, with the exception of the Land games on Game Boy).
Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World’s soundtracks slap. Heck, I think Sonic Unleashed is an awful game but some of those tracks were amazing.
Sonic spin dash jump.
Good ol Naoto Oshima!
Haven't played the game yet but the soundtrack slaps. It's on my vinyl wishlist.
Another outstanding selection. About a decade ago, I decided to listen to every version of Street Fighter II’s soundtrack that I could find. I had already heard these themes so many times in the 20 years prior that they’re tattooed on my brain.. but I was surprised (sometimes pleasantly and sometimes disappointingly)…

Uh.. have you heard the original song?
I didn’t play this one but I’ll never forget the intro to Cybermorph. As cool as the game looked, I do remember thinking the lack of music was odd in the levels.
I’m just going off of my own experiences growing up.. I didn’t say it was cut and dry, but I also don’t think it’s as muddied as it seems like you’re making it sound like it was. When CD-i came out, 8 year old me looked at it and thought it belonged with Turbo Grafx 16, Genesis, SNES and Neo Geo... but when 3DO and…
I dunno, it felt like the Switch was just a “Pro” version of the Wii U. The timelines even matches up... it came out around the same time as the One X and Pro.
CD-i came out within months of the SNES in North America and was definitely a 4th gen console. The 3DO and Jaguar started the 5th generation releasing only a year prior to the Saturn and Playstation in Japan. The CD-i was a 16 bit machine while the 3DO and Jaguar were 32 and 64 bits like their cohorts. It really…
