I think Batman, X-Men and Spider-Man had about the same amount of good games in the 2D era. Spider-Man the Video Game is the only one that holds up to me.. I liked the Genesis/SegaCD game as a kid but it hasn’t aged well imo. A lot of the other 2D games are pretty forgettable.
It was a lot more common in the 16 bit/arcade era... as advancing graphics caused increasing development times for quality games, it became more and more difficult to make a good game in time for a movie’s release.
I remember playing the demo to Bayonetta before it came out and immediately loving the soundtrack. I’ll never forget driving around LA in fall of 09 blasting 2 songs from the car... Check My Brain by Alice in Chains and this:
I spent about $1500 building my PC in 2015 and I moved it into my closet (it’s large enough that it’s almost like a small room... I have all of my classic consoles, games, vinyl and record player in there as well) nearly 3 years ago and have not turned it on since. I had wanted to build one for years and it turned out…
Growing up, my older cousins (technically my mom’s cousins as my great grandparents were their grandparents, one is 4 years older and the other 11) shaped my tastes in entertainment. They showed me it was cool to be a black kid into rock, anime, comics and video games.
I never was huge on 8 bit era chiptunes unless I was exposed to them while playing the game they came from. This cat is prolific though for this song alone..
🔥🔥🔥 glad you liked it..
Oh yeah I remember playing DD on GBA and enjoying it... DD IV wasn’t half bad either and while it wasn’t outstanding I had fun playing Neon as well. So basically everything that came after the 90s lol.
Yessss! These Double Dragon arranges are so good. I have a weird relationship with this series. This is my favorite genre and I acknowledge the series as one of the pioneers, but I always thought the games were so bland and boring. I honestly wasn’t huge on the NES but I remember renting Rosetta Stone for Genesis back…
I wish lol... I didn't discover it until about 5 years ago
Yeah, again no disrespect to the others but I get this vibe from your posts that you are super passionate about game music. It feels like I am reading the kind of stuff I would say when I geek out about soundtracks to people... that most of the time don’t even care one iota as much as I do lol.
No disrespect to the other contributors, but I have to say that these posts just aren’t the same for me when they aren’t by you. Ever since I saw the Strider post a few months ago, I’ve found myself waking up every weekday morning thinking, “I wonder what is going to be on Morning Music today?” Your soundtrack…
I mean, when the 2600 came out, you were around the same age I was when I got my NES.
Ahhh ok. My first console was an Atari XEGS (still have it in the box) that my parents got me for Christmas when I asked for an NES back in 1989. I got the NES 2 months later for my 7th birthday. After that came the Game Gear (traded in for a Genesis), Sega CD, Saturn, 32X, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast. I was anti…
“My first console was a PlayStation” and now I feel every bit of a thousand years old lol. The Playstation was my 6th console (and that doesn’t include the Game Gear, Game Boy, Sega CD and 32X that I also had by that time).
I don't see the police station in this video
I usually get consoles and handhelds 6 months to a year after they come out (Saturn, Nintendo 64, PS2, Xbox, PSP, DS, 3DS and 360).
I never was a big fan of Namco’s arcade games, especially in the 3D era.. I preferred Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop and Daytona to Tekken, Time Crisia and Ridge Racer. Although Sega didn’t even bother with the 3D weapons based fighter, Soul Edge/Blade was special. I didn’t get a PS1 until a few months before the…
