I mean why would this acquisition have changed that? I can't think of any of their games being console only before this lol..

Yep.. came here to basically say the same. The original Xbox is still my favorite Xbox console.
But I obviously wasn’t comparing those.. This whole post is about PS5 games... Dark Souls, God of War, Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, Miles Morales etc... Obviously I wouldn’t jump on a post about CoD or Assassin’s Creed being $70 and compare to the 90s.
And if you pick CoD or Ubisoft games then you’re missing out on....(checks notes)........ah forget it there are too many games to name.
And you gave the worst possible examples. Actually think next time.
I’ll take an Insomniac Spider-Man and a Horizon Forbidden West over a Maximum Carnage or an Acclaim game any day.
You got me there since our only choices are the handful of games you mentioned and I said every single game that comes out today is full of value. Oh wait no, that’s not what I said. At all.
Yep.. I remember getting Streets of Rage 3 in 1994 for $75. A game that I finished by that evening.
Nope, it was just a 2d game that you could beat on a Saturday that had a samey sequel in a year or less. Don't get me wrong, I loved those games but let's not pretend they were packed with value.
This was standard back then..
Lol you must not have lived during those times because you couldn't get them cheaper elsewhere.
My 2nd favorite 2D Mario game (it’s sequel is my favorite) and a fantastic OST. The music is unlike the music in most Mario games (probably because it was composed by Hip Tanaka instead of series regular Koji Kondo). When I discovered FFShrine/Galbadia Hotel in 05, I was able to hear all kinds of arranged soundtracks…
I knew you were going to post that track.. what a great song! I always thought of these 2 songs when I heard that track.
My first experience with Shinobi was Shadow Dancer on Genesis when I was 8 years old. The soundtrack didn’t stand out to me and while I found the game to be fun, it wasn’t my favorite. I had Revenge of Shinobi on the Sega Classics Arcade Collection for Sega CD later on but hardly played it. It wasn’t until discovering…
I have both.. I found RCG to be boring and I don’t like the art style that much. I think Jonathan Lavigne and co's sprite work is better than post Joakim Sandberg and Sean Velasco WayForward.
Lol first of all op said “never worked retail before” not big box. Second of all, same customers go to the same stores... if you’re implying video game store customers are better informed you’re woefully incorrect. I had to explain the difference in hard drive size on PS3 and Xbox 360 so many times.
They totally missed an opportunity to name the Wii U the Super Wii. The biggest problem though was it still used the motion sensor bar and Wii Remotes and looked like a sleeker Wii. If it took on a completely different form factor I think people would’ve gotten the point, terrible name aside.
Although 3DS and Wii U were problems, I think its different with the Xbox because it has “Xbox” in front of it and they look different. The Wii U and 3DS strongly resembled their predecessors. On top of that, the Wii and DS weren’t 3rd generation Nintendo products.
I worked at a video game store during 7th gen and I don’t see this as a problem.
