@you: Sonic CD is the best... followed by Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Now playing

Sonic 3 & Knuckles slaps... but these songs right here do too

Mighty originated in the arcade game though.. but yeah it was clear from the drawings he was lazily designed (as well as Ray). At least Knuckles and Tails had different shaped eyes and noses.

I liked Tails and Knuckles.. Amy in Sonic CD was alright since you couldn’t use her. 4 was a solid number for the crew, and I was okay with Knack the weasel being a villain.. but yeah.. once they got past 4 playable characters they were really just useless. I didn’t play 2D Sonic to go fast.. I played it to explore.

Ah, a fellow Sonic CD appreciator. My favorites are Sonic CD tied with 3 & Knuckles.

“Anytime you actually go fast you wind up slamming into a wall or enemy because 4:3 is a terrible aspect ratio for these games. Then once you’ve lost all momentum Sonic’s movements are sluggish and kinda awkward and the exact opposite of the speed you were promised.”

Super Mario 64

I’d love 3D World to be ported... loved that game and I would play it again and while we’re at it a remastered 3D Land would actually be ridiculously cool.

That makes no sense.. it's a terrible comparison.

Someone who gets it

I really don't understand all the cheering about less exclusives... it's as if people don't understand that exclusivity leads to better games.

Good for you and your friends lol... I like how you spoke for an entire segment of gamers too.

Yep.. 1994 really was the year of Jim Carrey...

I was going to read this whole list but then I saw Sleeping Dogs and that was the end of the list for me lol. Sleeping Dogs is one of my favorite games of the past 15 years... shame that we got Triad Wars instead of a sequel. I was wishing that Sega tapped United Front Games to make a new Streets of Rage with that

Ae you actually making a game like Elevator Action Returns? My first encounter with that game also came in 2001. The summer after I graduated from high school I became a huge emulation nut. I considered arcade games to be the pinnacle of gaming and used MAME to discover countless gems that never received home ports.

1994 was great (X-Men Mutant Apocalypse, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Punch Out, Biker Mice From Mars, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Killer Instinct, Uniracers, Kirby’s Dream Court, Armored Warriors, Death and Return of Superman, Earthworm Jim, Aliens vs Predator, Sonic the Hedgehog 3).. but 1993 was

The Mask!

You left off Resident Evil 2, Tenchu, Shogo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, 1080 Snowboarding, Starsiege: Tribes, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Sonic Adventure (Japan), Turok 2 and F-Zero X

That’s awesome. Mine came with Flight Simulator, Bug Hunt and of course Missle Command that was built into the console itself. My dad also got me Fight Night and HardBall... those 2 were my favorites.

As a kid I probably would’ve said my Atari XEGS becuase I asked for an NES (which I ended up getting 2 months later for my bday) but I definitely cherish the memories of my first game console and it’s become one of my favorite items in my collection since I’ve never known anyone else to own one.
