OG 3DS was rip at $249, exactly. Then they lowered the price to $170 and it was fine. They released the 2DS at an even cheaper price.

The DS and GBA targeted literally the same market, and the DS literally had a GBA slot inside it. The 3DS and Switch don’t.

I love Siliconera because it’s always up to date on Japanese games but good god are the commenters the worst. Literally every commenting section is an argument about how mobile gaming and censorship are literally the worst things to ever happen on Earth. You’d think a community that’s based on their fandom of Japanese…

Yeah this one is running directly on the same Awakening/Fates engine so it’s probably very easy to make on the 3DS. I’d definitely buy it on Switch, but they’d need to update the looks for the Switch

I’m fine with anime-ish, but the combat screen is sprites and the character models are kinda meh. Even if all the graphics turned out to be like Persona I think that’d be a big step above Awakening HD

Well, FE for the Switch is a 2018 game, and FE for Android is free mostly, so there’s that!

Yeah I don’t really think that’s a problem. I LOVE my 3DS and have sooooo many games for it but I didn’t even think about getting it until early 2013.

I’m kinda using HD to loosely mean like “modern” graphics. Project Octopath Traveller for the Switch looks great but it’s got a very retro art style. I’m just hoping the art style isn’t just “Awakening but less pixellated!”

I think it’s the 3rd mobile game they’re doing, so should be announced next.

Is it a full-fledged entry in the series? The fact that it’s coming out in 4 months and kind of the way they presented it made it seem like not a full game for some reason

Well, it was a FE-specific direct, so it’s not going to have info about anything else.

I’m not sure if the Switch can completely overtake the 3DS as peoples’ primary portable gaming system... it’s certainly portable, but it’s just a touch too big to easily carry around, and it doesn’t have quite the battery life of the 3DS.
