Wait, San Jose?! Ah I recognize the AFK place but have never been there, wonder if it’s cool

I’ve been hyped to see this for so long and just got out of the theatre. Completely different from what I expected, and I think I need some time to unpack what I saw.

Exactly. I really don’t understand what “serious” even means. Like, is it a problem because they’re not treating this as a full-fledged console release?

The controller? I’m pretty sure it’s the games, and packing 30 games into a single console and not having cartridges and having it output through HDMI and having save states ALREADY shows that this is different. If you can handle that then you can handle an extra button on the controller

If having an extra button is so detrimental to nostalgia, I’m guessing that the other changes/additions to the system are going to be even more detrimental to nostalgia.

Given the shortcomings of this system, seems like more of a money grab than anything serious.

They have to actually make the final product in such a way to take advantage of the extra power. Because consoles are a single configuration, I think for console developers it’s a waste to develop the game in a way that takes advantage of multiple configurations.

What’s the GPU-equivalent of the Pro? I read somewhere that it was about an RX480, and as someone who’s both a console and PC gamer, I always knew there was a disparity but I never realized the disparity was THAT large.

You’re missing everyone else’s point: It was ONE article. There are a bunch of articles that are video-game related and video-game focused that were posted today. It’s not like Kotaku has been inundated with political coverage since Tuesday night. Being so melodramatic about it is ridiculous

Man, that’s a damn fine slippery slope argument you got there. A day where they posted 30 video game related articles and one election-related article is clearly a sign of doom!

Again, I’m not telling you not to comment, I’m saying you’re being melodramatic about a nonexistent flood of political coverage on Kotaku. It’s ONE article. That’s like saying “I hoped Kotaku would stick to video games. But because there was an article about Preacher, a TV show, I clearly hoped wrong.”

I’m telling you your concern is weird. You’re melodramatically acting as if Kotaku just started Kotaku-Politics and that we’re now due for an influx of political articles on Kotaku, and I’m telling you that basically every single article posted today outside of this one has NOT been election-centric. I’m not saying

Just skip the article explicitly titling itself about the election, then. Kotaku does crossposts from its sister sites all the time and if you can ignore those, you can ignore this article.

If I were on the receiving end of that, I’d be enraged, too.

This trash heap is yours, America. I hope you drown in it.

The image of Clinton, or even anyone, having to call and concede to and congratulate Trump on becoming president, is going to fucking haunt me.

I honestly don’t know what to say. I never really thought it was even possible we’d end up here (which was a mistake), but now that we’re here, I have to say I don’t think I’ve ever felt this much dread EVER.

Is that from like a blooper or something?

Exactly. I’m somewhat OK with the UCE not coming with the season pass stuff, but all this preorder DLC? Definitely should’ve been included

Well, right, which is why I spent most of my post talking more about the level boost than the cost, but the actual price IS an actual concern: before they started giving people free expansions, it would have been pricey and confusing to see what you had to buy, if the Battle Chest covered everything, etc. The overall
