Maybe I’m just a cynic, but my thought was always that women never got the opportunity to work on those big GoT-style projects because there was a concerted effort to keep qualified female directors out of roles.

It was announced at a panel at Transforming Hollywood 7: Diversifying Entertainment. It’s not like it was blasted in a press release by Marvel

Apparently all the people suddenly concerned that they chose gender over directing ability are really concerned about the gender of these directors

Of course it’s forced, but I doubt it’s forced in that they had to REALLY go out of their way to find enough female directors and they were REALLY scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Exactly. Every time a “diversity hire” is made people all of a sudden get really concerned that “they’re not the best person for the job.” Well, 1, maybe the fact that they have a different perspective IS an advantage they have, and 2, it’s not like there’s some huge drought of really good directors. It’s not like

are we trying to achieve a space where boys and girls can play alongside one another equally

As someone who pretty expressly got something because of affirmative action, yeah it does feel weird, but I’ve realized two things:

Who says there’s only 12 really good directors that exist and that because the ones they chose were all women, they’re automatically not the best directors for the job? You make it sound like they could’ve had Christopher Nolan and Steven Spielberg direct every episode but they were like “nah let’s get these recent

Not exactly an uncommon guess even then!

I wonder what their thinking behind all of this was in the first place. Did they plan on using the “the shows are part of the MCU!!!” line as a tag-line and not expect the shows to actually be this good/popular and that people would actually want overlap? Or did they go into this thinking “yeah it’d be totally cool to

It looks cool but I’m not sure about it...seems like a solution in search of a problem...

This is a sham! My post on the reveal article was clearly shitty enough to be listed as a shitpost here!

The trailers have always made me hyped for this movie, but after watching Sicario recently, I’m fucking HYPED for this movie. It looks so so so good

Not gonna lie I didn’t either lol

Wow that’s a bunch of good examples, and doesn’t something similar happen with Resident Evil? Or maybe I’m wrong, but it sounds a lot more common than I thought

Realistically I’m guessing 720p on the screen and it outputting 1080p on the dock to the TV. I don’t expect this to fully be as powerful as a PS4 or XB1.

incorporating forward-looking design elements that feel a lot more opt-in than the Wii and Wii U’s motion and touch controls.

Same. Sure, not informative, but we know it’s coming out Fall 2017 so it’s not like they’re like just starting development or anything and have nothing done. It looks fucking beautiful

People are saying it might be a prequel. I’m sure there are examples of this but I can’t think of any, what games/movies explicitly have a “2" in the title but are actually prequels?

Not super informative, but it’s something!
