Even if they don’t, it’s pretty easy to find out.
Even if they don’t, it’s pretty easy to find out.
It takes nowhere near a couple of hours to do the research. I’ve never heard of this game at all before this article, and within 30 seconds did a google search for “Firewatch kotaku,” found its review, searched for “hours” and saw that he completed it in 4 hours. I loaded up the page on Steam and searched for “hours”…
Except there is no dilemma to be had after the fact. You can have the conflicted feelings before your purchase and that can drive your decision, but after the fact, you don’t get to actually use that to get a refund on a game you finished.
It’s not about assuming whether or not it’s good or not, it’s about the rarity of a short game. A short indie game is not unheard of. A 5 minute IMAX film has, I think, literally never happened. That comparison you tried to make was a stupid one.
There’s nothing wrong with being disappointed, but to go so far as to ask for a refund for your own error is dumb.
Exactly. If you buy something and regret it, most of the time that’s on you. Length of the game is too short? That’s an absurdly easy thing to research beforehand. Bunch of reviews will tell you that it’s short.
That’s their own fault. It’s not like that information is hard to find.
there is such a thing as lying through omission, and that seems to be the main problem a lot of people have with this game, they weren’t told the game would be short or that short up front.
Then they should’ve done the research. Those are both easy pieces of information to find. Either way, that doesn’t entitle you to a refund after the fact.
Exactly. BEFORE you make a purchase, you can use whatever criteria you want to use to determine if it’s worth it to you or not.
Hey, as long as you realize you’re an asshat, then go right ahead
Exactly. I don’t understand at all the sentiment, besides “oh technically I can get a refund legally, so maybe I’ll just do it because I can.”
Yep. Really not a fan of the Quesalupa
If you’re in that dire a situation, MAYBE do research on the length of the game before dropping $18 on it.
I think it’s completely fine to say “hmm it’s a short game, maybe I won’t spend $18 on it til it’s on sale.” That’s a completely fine reaction to have BEFORE you spend that money. But to say “man I really enjoyed it but it’s short, I think I should get a refund” is dumb as fuck.
If you have a Frys near you apparently they’re opening preorders/sales up there for the Special Edition

For some reason the trailers just didn’t do it for me. Love the idea on paper, this movie sounds perfect for me (especially with TJ Miller) but I just wasn’t feeling it after the trailers. Can’t put my finger on why
“There was one thing, years ago, I had two girls and we were talking about how we were going to try to have a third.
I guess Watson? But I definitely would not really say that those 3 are Hollywood’s biggest box office draws
