As much as I like to complain about Jackson's handling of the Hobbit films, I'd watch the shit out of that. Especially if there were copious amounts of Bombadil involved.

But Exodus, while fictional, still takes place more or less within recorded history, (eg Ramses II was a real person). If nothing else, it's the story of a conflict between two actual historical ethnocultural groups in a specific place at a recognizable point in time.

Not to make a Murdochesque generalization or anything, but I haven't met very many people* (Christian or not) who give a single fuck about this movie in the first place.
