Soaz is actually not a world Winner, he did play in the finals of the 1st championship but was on Against All Authority at the time which lost to Fnatic. After that Season he went on to join Fnatic.

About the part where north america have never been to quarter finals or semi-finals... TWO NA teams went to Quarter Finals last Worlds, TSM(who lost to Samsung White) and C9(who lost to Samsung Blue). ANNNND TSM went to the Semi-finals of the 1st World Championship but lost to Against All Authority.
