I don't have any psych advice to give but I will say that I had a bitch of a time adjusting to Atlanta when I first moved here from the NE. It takes some time to grow on you. What do you guys enjoy doing? Perhaps I can offer some helpful suggestions on things to do and places to go.

Oh my! That is such a shitty way to find out. Hope you're OK.

But she was speaking of her experience. As far as I can tell, she wasn't talking about all gay men.

Thanks. Glad to know :)

Because I do not consider myself African (whatever that even means because Africa is a huge continent with many different countries, cultures, languages.) African ancestry =/= African.

What about the nosy coworker?

I got broken up with last year for the very same bullshit reason. It's hard not to take it personally when someone says that you're not attractive to them, but please don't even go there. I was where you are quite recently and this website brought me so much relief: http://www.baggagereclaim.co.uk/. Look through the list of topics. The author discusses having no contact with your ex and how to heal and value yourself after a breakup. It was honestly a life saver.

*faints*

As someone going through THE WORST dry spell right now, your comment made me shed a tear. And then another. And then 2 more. Damn!

You crack me up.

I love this!

I hate that people do this but I don't know if it's always about trying to be lighter. I love my complexion but whenever I go out into the sun, my nose and forehead will darken considerably, but not the rest of my face. Let's not even talk about skin discoloration from acne or any injury. I thought about this one day

Lived in NJ. Not quite the same.

I can't put my finger on it but since I moved to the Southern US, I've met quite a few black men with that line of thinking. Women better know their role and not be too successful or opinionated or else they will face the full wrath. It infuriates me.

Hulu Plus.
