I find it really difficult to explain this exact same thing to others, mainly because of my own amount of (debt-creating) education. But I completely agree.

I have to say, I don’t like the way the first letter writer talks down his intelligence. Education isn’t the litmus test for intelligence. Flaunting degrees is like telling people your IQ. It’s ultimately meaningless in most circumstances.

Yeah, but question asker needs to be veeery careful because an abuser’s #1 go-to is to drive off their victims’s friends. George *should* be driven off, but because of A’s background, new boyfriend probably should not be the one to do it.

I mean, not that my model is superior (I’ll torch a bridge whenever, if someone’s being shitty and won’t own up to it - fuggit, I can swim), but...yeah, any gal who had an asshole friend like that, and who decided that he should be *my* problem, would be hitting the bricks in short fucking order.
