First of all, the very gas in discussion, Sarin, was developed by the fucking Nazis. Secondly, the implication is even Hitler wouldn’t sink so low as to gas women and children...which he did, by the millions. Come on, man.

It’s almost as if he’s accusing Assad of being...Too sloppy with the genocide of his people? “Unlike Hitler the bastard didn’t even have the common decency to imprison his people before gassing them en masse, how crude!” There’s literally no other way I could fathom his thought process when making that…

Yeah, it’s like a shopping center. Except if Hitler had dropped chemical weapons on a shopping center, apparently it would have made him worse because it was his “own” people and “innocent” people? I don’t know. I give up.

The vibe I get from this phrase is that to Spicer, it’s fine to use chemical weapons on your people as long as they are, you know, THOSE people and confined away from everyone else. It’s not ok to just drop chemical weapons into any old town willy-nilly.

Holocaust minimization/denial by the White House press secretary is a real story, though. It’s not a distraction, unless you think it can’t happen again.
