I think you should sit this one out.

One of my friends put it best: "Macklemore is rap music for people who hate rap music."

I think what Jessica Williams had to say on the subject is a straw man argument: No one expected Lena Dunham to write her show as if she were black. But since she's out there actively making money off of the notion that she's a progressive feminist with a liberal sensibility, and therefore, as a direct result, she

Having one token black character who was quickly dispatched with and was, trope of tropes, a Republican, is "a fantastic job" of addressing legitimate criticism about race and class? Whatever. You can stop kissing Lena Dunham's ass now. Nothing will make up for that Vogue idiocy.

A brother can't get credit for shit around here.

The funniest aspect of this is listening to "NFL fans" who guzzle forty beers and scream obscenities all afternoon preaching about "class" and the "sanctity of the game" and that kind of idiocy. The same people who spit and hurl food at opposing players are suddenly experts on decorum and sportsmanship, what a farce.

Whenever I see photos of Michael B. Jordan, I think, "Who is Michael B. Jordan? That's Reggie Montgomery." I bet Erica Kane makes one hell of a stepmother.

I've only got one thing to say: If you don't think screaming "NIGGER LOVER" in someone's face is a form of violence then I can't with you.

Okay, fair enough. But perhaps you should also take a minute to think about how it feels when, as a black man, you're statistically more likely to be unemployed or incarcerated, you're assumed to have criminal tendencies—so women avoid walking past you on the sidewalk and store owners follow you around, you have black

You sound like fun.

How am I mansplaining and how am I troll?

But it isn't the same difference. I don't think you quite understand what facts are and what a standard of proof is. We often derive our understand of various isms through experience. However, making a universal claim as "fact" especially one about a social phenomenon requires more than your say so.

Honestly I feel sorry for you b/c I'm sure in you're mind you know that you're right, unfortunately you are wrong, like really really wrong. Emit Til, Rosewood, literally every jim crow law, etc. all examples of how everything in the south was just one big sausage fest where black and white bitched about dem lyin hoes

...Sorry guys. Here I'm probably admitting that I am a bad person, but I don't feel sorry for her. I just don't.

The reason I'm having trouble feeling sorry for her has nothing to do with her choosing to go back to an abuser. We all know that otherwise reasonable people go back to abusers all the time.

I do not feel sorry for a woman who date a man who killed a seventeen young man.

Yeah, the original song is not great, but Beastie Boys have become more socially aware as they have aged. I think what people are missing in the story is the emotions behind the lawsuit. One of the band members died from cancer last year and stated in his will that he does not want their music used for advertising.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. This has a very strong "Won't somebody please think of the white people?!" vibe to it.
