Can you not read? I didn’t go in on anyone. I said, because it’s true, black women threaten to call the police as well and then said it’s not the main issue therefore who someone dates shouldn’t matter. Only someone with poor comprehension skills could claim I went in on black women or threw them under the bus.

Yes, black women are targets of state violence. And some black women have threatened to call the police/probation officers on their S/O. One doesn’t preclude the other and you speaking so definitively about NO BLACK WOMAN having ever done that should have struck you as absurd on its face.

Or it wasn’t salient yet? She had no need to take advantage of the white power structure because it served no purpose until it did. Sometimes there aren’t “warning signs” and there was nothing to look out for. Sometimes white people just remind you they’re white and you’re not because it is advantageous to do so.

Not all white men but whiteness. We have a racial hierarchy and blackness is treated as the antithesis of whiteness. Whatever prejudices others may have, it is the mechanisms created by this dynamic they use to suppress blacks.

Black women can and have done this as well. It’s a method of social control, the mere threat of police involvement. Should we quit them too or acknowledge the existence of the ability to unleash state violence on specific people is more a concern than who someone dates? Or nah?

Jian Yang isn’t even a person anymore. He was never evil, he was a dick to someone that was a dick to him. Now, he does a full heel turn because.... because! And it’s deeply uninteresting, Pied Piper has enough foils, it didn’t need this cartoon Jian Yang to be another.

LC’s would, too. SLAP’s or Jones on the Kansas side would as well.

I like the first few episodes but it got repetitive in a way I just don’t like in my sitcoms anymore. In 1997 this would have been my jam.

Loki was also a villain. Like Villain! Enslave people if not outright exterminate them villain. He’s not an audience stand in nor someone we really root for. If it came from one of the Avengers and it was just a throw away I could see that but when it’s the potential mass murder... he’s a bad person and he does bad

If you have to give people a reason to vote for you, not vote against someone else. When did this change? When did the rules shift?

How dare black people expect to be courted, as if we matter! We should vote for the dems anyway because they won’t make things worse. Black politics has to operate differently from everyone else, we shouldn’t expect things to improve. How silly of us, thinking we’re Americans or something.

This sounds adorable and I’m here for it

I don’t think you should feel bad. He was a victim, as long as you wouldn’t deny him everything a victim of a crime is entitled to, protection/fair investigation of their victimization who cares how you feel? Being a victim doesn’t make you a good person and Rand Paul isn’t a good person. And all those people wagging

Except a need to return to the status quo, I don’t understand why Morty needed his toxins back..

Didn’t Mitt “win” the first debate with Obama by lying his ass off, too?

Are you illiterate?

I didn’t finish reading this response because it started off truly moronic. It has literally no bearing on what I said, at all.

Except feminism proclaimed to speak for all women, so subsections of women saying, “you don’t speak for me, I don’t need you to but give me space to speak for myself” is different from specifically black appeals being called out for being exclusively black. It’s like criticizing McDonald’s for a crappy chicken

Black men also got killed for trying to vote and were given tests or fined so they couldn’t vote. What do you think the Voting Rights Act was about? For the majority of black people, who primarily lived in the South until waves of migration, they only had the right to vote on paper.

I think Chris was using his nothing better to protest as foundation for his eventual observation of what kind of racism Hollywood is and it worked as a larger comment on what racism today largely is. Not the best wording but taken together the idea that de jure racism and the colorblind racism of today are different
