Waiting on the gritty reboot of “Happy Days”:

Who was asking for a gritty reboot of Fresh Prince?

Man, this whole thing just feels like a major studio desperately trying to keep a concluded franchise going because they’ve got nothing else. Even if Rowling wasn’t a raving bigot, it would still come off as pathetic on multiple levels. The story ended a decade and a half ago, guys. There are kids in high school who

Mark Hamill never had to work again unless he wanted to, he got free admission for life to SDCC, and he was offered jobs to voice his favorite characters while hanging out at home in his pajamas. He is the High Nerd King whose career all lesser nerds aspire to.

It’s almost like this game released on a variety of different hardware and people have had completely different experiences depending on what they played/on with. Stop demonizing groups of people just because they have a different opinion than you. If you had a great experience, great. That’s awesome. That’s what the

...you do realize that this isn’t the compliment you think is. When you have to revert to “sure its disappointing and not great...BUT PEOPLE SHOULD STEP OFF”,

Doesn’t say much about the game’s quality.

Let’s take apart that blog post of theirs, shall we?

Only two comments to get to the Nazi comparison, bravo.

Ah yes, the dictionary definition, which supersedes any de facto role that one of six producers might actually play in a movie’s production.

I get what he’s getting at but if this is presenting the context of what he said accurately, I don’t think this is the best way to say it.

And the thing about fan service is, it does the opposite in the long run. It’s just catering to existing fans, but not creating new ones. I doubt any younger people who didn’t grow up with the Ghostbusters will see this film and think, “Yes, this is the franchise for me!” It will just seem weird and inscrutable, full

What bothered me about Lowery in Jurassic World is that in-universe his love of the original makes no sense. It was a theme park that fell apart on the first test run that resulted in the deaths of several people. There is nothing “legit” about it.

You can’t just shift tone like that in a few months.  There’s no way.

SR IV was quite loved and quite successful...so it’s a bit odd to say it made no sense.

I never understood this take. Who cares if the guns and cars are necessary? If it’s more fun to use your superpowers to fight and move around, what exactly is the problem?

Lived my whole life in LA. No one from here is going to call the arena anything but Staples Center. There’s too much emotional attachment and civic pride in the place. I know it’s named after a previous corporation that paid for naming rights, but they were the first. We saw 6 NBA champions, and 2 Stanley Cups with

I’m generally disinclined to get into it with people who talk about how critics need to be “objective” and refer to movies as “content,” but I do like talking about myself so I’m going to humor you, User Named Mark.

You’re correct -- there IS an agenda afoot. It’s all part of a nefarious plot to tell you my opinions about movies!!!

“Well, IGN says the latest Call of Duty sequel is 10 out 10 and has a little bit of fun for everyone, any critic that disagrees is clearly not doing their job right”
-A lot of fucking idiots

Dude, if you’ve convinced yourself that the older, kinja-less version of the AVClub would go any easier on this trifle, I don’t know what to tell you.
