My only issue is announcing this exclusivity deal a couple of weeks out from Metro’s release. But other than that, I whole heartedly agree with this statement.

I had to scroll farther than I would like to find someone who asked the same question I had. Why cut the price and ALSO go exclusive? The $10 difference is the entirety of the commision gained, so that argument holds no water.
This looks to me like DS took a large bag of money from Epic, with the sole cost being the…
I didn’t review bomb anything, but I am not happy about this move. Steam is a platform that, because it has matured over years of refinement, has many features that the Epic store lacks. The game experience is altered by this change in platform.
I have a feeling people would be much happier with this if they kept the game on Steam, but also sold it on the Epic store for a cheaper price because of the better % margins. They aren’t forcing anyone to one option, and you will have the people who just want to buy the game for the lower price, ala Epic.
They’re fighting back against a shitty move. Publishers need to know which lines to cross and which not to. Would you have wanted EA to have had no push-back from turning Battlefront 2 into a Pay-to-Win game with lootboxes? The majority of gamers didn’t want their product to be that way so they pushed back.
The reaction is less they want it on Steam. It’s more they’re upset that they did this so close to the release date, after it had been up for preorder on Steam. Afterall, you only have to look at games that released on other platforms like Origin, and see quite a lack of outcry for those games. Heck I think there was…
Save The World mode is why I was initially interested in the game. I remember when it was first announced and THAT is what the game was going to be. Then they released it as a pay to get access game but said they were going make it free and I have been waiting for that ever since. But it doesn’t seem like they have…
Yup, it’s also paid, which is why Battle Royale is far more popular as there’s no entry threshold. You can just download it - on just about any platform by now.
So, for quick clarification: Save The World is what Fortnite was originally designed to be, right? A horde mode with classes and defenses and escalating challenges wave by wave?
I like that they painted themselves into a corner. It’s not like you can play the decendant of a historical figure who was gay and never had children. How else are you going to relive their genetic memories?
Except these characters are “ancestors”, which implies they had coitus with opposite sex. So not exclusively gay, no.
Particularly in a game series that has hinged explicitly on DNA and biological ancestry.
Weirdly, of all people, Pewdiepie covered this in a video. It’s apparently a bit of a gimmick the players do for each other and sometimes make donations pretending to be somebody else, to them selves. No payments are actually made.
This dude really makes his girlfriend work full time for him so he can play fortnite. She needs to break up with him. That's just wrong. 🤦♂️
“career as a Fortnite streamer”
“girlfriend has worked full time to support my caree....” for fuck sake.
If he was that finacaly troubled why didn’t he pick up a day job? I get wanting to make your dream job real but at some point, and that point is not after having a kid, you need to make it a side project and not the main income if it isn’t working out quite yet.
“My girlfriend has worked full-time to support my career as a Fortnite streamer, so I owe it to her and my four-year-old son...”
Yeah that’s gonna be a yikes from me.
I understand wanting to be reflected in the media we consume. I’m of a mixed heritage and don’t really look like anything specific, I used to get a lot more of “what ARE you” questions, though that’s died down as I get older.
