I need a gay, Japanese, transgender, liquid tiger in the game or I will hold a rally about how I want represented in a video game.

We’re in the era of “good is the enemy of perfect.”

Why isn’t [insert race/culture/gender/sexual orientation/species/form of matter] represented in my video game?

“Female video game character whose entire shtick is being fast and running around a bunch is skinny and not ugly, therefore her being a lesbian is offensive.”

I think it's more tired of constantly being told you're doing it wrong.

World shocked that man whose point is challenged has to resort to shitty sarcastic remarks to try and save face.

Believe it or not any female that does near the amount of exercise of Tracer would be skinny. Despite what you may think, you don’t just become fat. And also, believe it or not, if you care even remotely about your appearance, are in good shape, and don’t have the personality of people like you, you are probably

Is there any game currently on the market or with over a million players that has anywhere close to the level of diversity and representation that Overwatch has? Siege, anything else? Are there any video games that come close to it?

Black female players are an extremely tiny percentage of Overwatch’s player population. Like.. probably not even 5%.

Yup, this is totally the way to change things. Target the game with one of the most diverse casts in recent history and tell them they’re still doing it wrong.

So who exactly is the authority on the checklist of mix-and-match Types of Humans™ needed to fully satisfy a modern acceptable quota of “diversity”?

what the fuck.

They made a hamster and a second cowboy before they made a black woman.

I very much get what Gita is saying here, and the lack of a Black Female hero does indeed stand out.

That said, what would you rather have:
1) A hero, like Ashe, but made Black just to check off that box, or
2) A hero, not unlike Doomfist, who is

They may be African, but they’re not African enough, it seems.

Anyone who thinks this is a problem is a true moron. Overwatch’s heroes are pretty damned diverse.

Symmetra isn't dark skinned enough even tho shes Indian? Jesus, our next hero is going to be a vantablack woman who's powers revolve around blackness.

Apparently it has to be spot on or it doesn’t count these days.

Okay, but like...Pharah and Anna don’t count? Is it because they are Egyptian, not African-American “black”? By all means, I’m all for more black folk in the game, but this does bug me a bit.

I used to work at TrustedReviews - I left several months before the offending article was published. I don’t have intimate knowledge of why TI Media, which owns TrustedReviews, chose to settle the case, but I know no laws were broken obtaining the documents. To my knowledge, they were emailed anonymously to a member

I mean, you could certainly make the argument that all information serves a public good and that part of a journalist’s job is cutting through the marketing cycle instead of just regurgitating what publishers want said. But let’s say you don’t believe in that argument. Here’s a good example.
