What’s funny is that the root issue is that the clips that link the tailgate release handle to the latch are likely broken. I’ve never seen this piece just fall off, but I have myself chose to drive without it so i can reach the rods and open the tailgate after the clips fail.

Why not both? My V has the LS6, my TBSS has the LS2.

Doesn’t have the GM chicklet by the V badge so there’s a chance it’s the LS6.

Anyone else willing to bet that this bezel was off because the plastic clips that are part of the tailgate release mechanism were broken?

I live exactly on the border of California and Arizona, on the AZ side where we have absolutely zero vehicle inspections. I feel like I'm that market exactly. Nice truck, but you'd have to really be into them to take the plunge on it.

At some point the price of a clean, running vehicle has to bottom out somewhere around here. I think under $2k you’re getting into the area of cars with obvious problems.

Its not even like this is a new thing. My 20 yr old, extended cab Sierra didn’t fit in my current garage 12 yrs ago. And that’s before trucks really blew up.

As the owner of a 04 CTS-V, it was always fun when people were shocked to find out that it had manual transmission.  Well, that and when they heard what it sounded like and realized how quick it was.

One of my friends, a 31 yr old girl, has been babying a limited edition, all stock, turbo since she got it in highschool. She has barely driven it at all, for the 8 years I’ve known her. It’s an automatic, but it’s clean as hell. I keep telling her how much it’s worth but she likes it too much to sell.

No lie, I woke up pretty early, ready to get started on the water pump on my CTS-V. Then I saw that it was 58° and decided to wait til it was warmer. The harsh reality of wrenching in AZ in the winter.

Hell yeah, it’s stupid and is not “reasonable” at all....But at the same time, it’s super fun.

So one time, an officer with lights and siren on was trying to enter an intersection where I had the green light. He was slowly pulling through, making sure everyone saw him, which I did so I stopped before entering. Then I got rearended by the guy behind me who wasn’t paying attention. That sucked.

So you’re close enough friends with this guy to be asked to be in his wedding, but you feel alright lying about your kid being sick to him so you can get out of his bachelor party? Why not just suck it up and be part of the event or man-up and tell him that you’re just not interested in going?
