To be a bit more accurate, what was used on the Super (1303) front and rear is very much what ended up on the Porsche 924/944/968. There is enough give and take that it is popular to swap those parts back on to a Beetle. It’s not 100% identical, more so with the new cars, but with slight machining 100% doable.

The Axtek was a bad car that was way too expensive. I’ve driven one and had to live with its “fancy” twin from Buick. Everything was hard plastic and it pushed and leaned through every turn in a very unsettling way. For comparison, my Samurai felt more sure footed and less likely to fall over mid turn.
