Eh, I think Caddy has proven that it hasn’t been able to go toe-to-toe on luxury with the Germans for a while now.

Did you not read the article? Unions are INHERENTLY GOOD. Quit posting your fake news.
This is what I’ve always said about stuff like this, the counter to bad speech isn’t censorship, it’s more speech.
Yes, and when a few hundred thousand to a few million vehicles all gain that feature at exactly the same time, where’s your market? Supply of “I need some random dude’s car for a little bit” is going to outstrip demand and you’re not going to be able to rent it out for much.
I think you hit the nail on the head, a few more inches is exactly what those buyers are after.
People using “should of” shouldn’t comment on someone else’s intelligence.
If you’re someone who uses a truck to “sit up high”, yes you should hate it.
Then we can get an ST trim with some red badges and stitching on the seats but no extra power.
Right, and Mazda would have that same problem only worse. They can’t compete on scale, which means their car is going to end up being pricier. That’s cool if you’re trying to be premium, but it’s not like the GTI is some penalty box. It’s gonna be hard to justify spending (totally made up number) $3k more on a Mazda…
Yeah I say this on a lot of hot hatch articles, but you essentially have to get in and beat the GTI in terms of bang for your buck. That isn’t an easy thing to do, especially when you consider the scope of those companies and how much of an advantage VW has just in the volume they can produce and how deep the parts…
While a lot of articles have been written about the Supra, I’m not sure I’d say we’ve been fawning over it. A lot of the commentary is about how stupid the whole thing is, and per Jalopnik SOP whining about the lack of manual transmission.
Do you suppose anyone with an affected Fiesta or Focus would consider an F-150 if they were in the truck market a few years from now?
Yeah, it’s a shame because I too like Mustangs but at this point I can’t trust Ford to acknowledge when something is broken so I’d never buy one.
The thing is, they do make a few things that appeal to me. I’m not in the market right now, but a Mustang or Focus RS are both appealing cars to me and in my price range. At this point I wouldn’t buy one though simply because it would mean dealing with Ford for any repairs and I can’t trust them to actually…
This is the kind of thing that sours people on a brand for the rest of their life and rightfully so. The defect is one thing, Ford’s response is beyond the pale in how terrible it is.
As you note, AOC probably couldn’t even make the ballot in Kentucky. If you ran her campaign there you’d be laughed out of the race after your first speech.
Also the body-shaming one contradicts the “respect your interests” thing. If fitness is important to me, it isn’t body-shaming to ask if it’s important to you too. If I don’t want to be married to a fat person 10 years from now that isn’t some personal failing of mine that needs to be addressed, it’s an honest…
As a biased Golf R owner I’ll point out that the new price is basically Golf R money.
Yup, and these folks already exist in droves in the full-size market. How many trucks do you see with a lift/wheel package that makes them completely impractical for doing actual truck things?
As I believe he summarized quite eloquently, “I don’t have to tell you shit”.
