@konfused: You bring up good points, and I do agree he tends to oversell the qualities of Apple products. Oh well, I guess that's his job to an extent...

@konfused: I don't think I'm being fooled, I listened to the case he made and I'm good with it. Exactly what do you take issue with from his press conference?

I could listen to Steve read the phone book. At the minimum he's always gonna give us something to talk about.

@knwldg: Well, from a simple standpoint, very few people are complaining to Apple about shaky reception.

@Laurent Matheo: If a scant few complain about the supposed shaky reception due to a supposed antenna design flaw... is it really a design flaw?

I think that the most strident Apple hater would have to agree that Steve made a pretty good case today. I'm satisfied.

Prolly already been said a number of times by other commenters, but I worked at a lab that had a rather sizable anechoic chamber in it. It's an eery sensation to be in one of them.

I may be in the vast minority here, but I rather liked Steve's press conference. There was part techno-speak and part spin...in the end he came armed with numbers that seem to support that this issue, while real, isn't as chronic as some would have us believe.

@waclark57: 5000 responses from satisfied users who actually emailed Steve is no doubt a tiny fraction of overall satisfied users. Your concept of what a meaningful statistic is needs to be re-thought.

@kylecpcs: Upgrading more/less frequently doesn't matter if you're re-buying the same brand. Ultimately sales matter, no matter the reason.

Mind. Blown.

@sinfire: Yeah, the case would solve the problems, it's just a personal preference thing with me - I've always hated putting my phones in a case. I know I know, it's weird, but I don't want to be forced to put the phone in a case just to get a signal, because I'm a lefty and generally hold my phone in exactly the

This story is getting confusing...why would they even attempt to recall the iP4 on the sly and then try a software fix. Or is it the other way around? C'mon Jesus, do a nice clean post that sums up this whole reception issue from top to bottom.

@hahn: Well said, very much appreciated! At this point in time, Steve Jobs is a known commodity. I can just imagine the hell he put his tech leads through over the years.

@BadPlasmid: Yeah I understand that. They way I'm reading this whole app debate is there are a group of devs that want to literally write an app that can be placed on any number of mobile devices using a number of mobile OSs. So if a dev codes in Java to create an Apple app, can he not sell that app in the Android

@ZGangsta: The web client works perfect on my MBP. Go away PC troll.

@Bael: For mobile apps, good apps make Apple and their devs money. I'm not making this up, the numbers are the numbers. Devs get 70% of any revenue generated, which is gonna be a couple billion dollars this year.

@Eggs: Whoa man, throttle it back just a bit...life's too short. The 1st reply was actually valid. If I were to respond, it would have been simply to say that the cream rises to the top. The best apps will make the most money, and vice versa.

@hahn: I'm not into getting in a flame war with anybody, because while I'm a proud fanboy, I'm really not interested in changing anybody's mind.
