I...almost couldn't tell if this was real or not. Then I saw who made the post.

You are correct. They kept increasing power and not modifying the transmission accordingly. At some point the STi switched to a 6 speed that was properly designed for the 300hp that it was making and solved that issue.

Haha I wish I had more info on that. I looked into the FQ400 some, but they all seem to be either garage queens or heavily modded, so I can't really tell. The story is similar in the JDM market where cars remain low mileage for their entire lifetime. No reports of reliability issues doesn't necessarily mean super

I guess I should have provided specific examples. The early 2000s EVO FQs pushed up to 405hp from a 2.0L turbo. Legacies and other JDM Subarus were producing close to 300 hp from 2.0L back in the mid 90s. The F1 turbo era of the 80s were producing 1200+hp from 1.5L, but I'm not sure how much reliability can be gleaned

My car is so old, it doesnt have ABS, traction control, stability control, TPMS, wifi, twitter, facebook, linkedin updates. Doesnt bother me one bit! I learned how to drive in the snow and know the "old school" methods to drive in snow.

How about the ford fiesta ST. It has a tiny engine that makes almost 200 horsepower! Something tells me, that engine is working HARD to make that kind of power. Run it for 10 years, my gut feeling is there are going to be some serious wear issues above and beyond whats normal. I hope i'm wrong; I always want to

11. As long as I remove just enough snow/ice for me to see out it's okay to drive.

ABS is great, but it won't make you impervious to skidding. If there's snow and/or ice on the ground, brake early and often.

No, they can't. Seriously, here in Ohio when the first flake drifts down from the sky, you'd think we were in the tropics and the Snowpocalypse was up on us. People skidding out on the freeway, SUV's in ditches and more fender benders than you can shake an attorney at.

Taking air out of your tires will give you a wider contact patch which can sometimes help, but more often than not you actually want skinny tires for snow.

As the 2.7 was described to me by a Ford rep, it's basically a diesel engine that runs on gas, so reliability shouldn't be an issue. Though we do know how reliable Ford's diesel engines are, so your point stands.

In addition, will ecoboost prove to be reliable? Small 4 cylinder turbo engines making HP and TQ that rival 6 cylinder engines are being worked very hard. Lots of stress, wear and tear on these engines. Long term reliability is still unknown.

There is a large percentage of people (especially in the US) that seem to think that anyone committing any crime for any reason deserve to get the death penalty. They seem to think that stealing a purse should equal a life sentence.

The same people around here who think what he did was "horrible and dangerous" are the same people that really try hard to argue that buying a slow car and driving it slowly is the sign of a real car enthusiast.

I know popular opinion here is that he should be drawn and quartered, but seriously, the normal speed video just looks 'quick', not dangerously fast. He was conscious of other traffic and as far as I could tell, no more dangerous than your average NYC cab driver. Worth a fine, absolutely. But not at all worth jail

I don't know, I want to check these cars out in 6-7 years to see how they're all doing. If they hold up well, I'll change my tune on Chrysler products.

They are going to bring back Hummer just for this purpose. Every teenager will be required to drive a new H1 with extra armor plating and guards. Oh, they will also be required to get at LEAST 30mpg city.

I agree. They could have reposted the law, i.e. go above X miles per hour, risk getting your car impounded. Rather, they decided to mock the person. To me, thats not professional

A cop's job is to enforce the law and not mock. That tweet is so full of seething resentment it actually disgusts me.
