Thats an interesting strategy. "ya know, that GM car was a dangerous death trap. Why not take a look at another GM car!"

We don't want to see any company fail, I personally just find this whole episode to be completely bizarre.

I noticed something yesterday when I went to my local Chevy dealer to buy a part. They put in an office between the service department and the waiting room. The door said, "Vehicle Exchange Room". Looked to me like they put in a special room for cutting deals with people who are in for service/recall.

That's true. Most of the recalled cars are coming to the end their lifecycle.

I know the sales manager at my local Chevy dealer. He says when people bring their cars in for a recall. Usually a ratted out Cobalt, or equally worn out and high mileage near 10 year old car. They cut them a deal on something new. People jump all over it. Also they love whatever loaner they got, and theyll cut them

I have an 05 Volvo I bought used a few years ago, and constantly get mail directly from Volvo. Granted it was a dealership and not personal sale, so maybe that's why.

I've been wondering about that too. Do they really keep track of who owns what car?

DMV records.

So now what happens? I have a 2003 vehicle that I am not the original owner. How does GM know I own this vehicle?

You should see the ignition switch on my 03 oldsmobile alero. All I have to do is tap the keychain and the car shuts off. Hopefully they address this issue. I've seen posts floating around where other people with GM products of that vintage have had similar problems.

Tanks a lot, VFW.

It was a way to give Dodge dealers a vehicle to sell without actually having to develop a new one.

Was that Nitro supposed to be? A mini suv? A boxy station wagon? A large car? A crossover? I really could never figure out what segment it was supposed to be part of. Same goes for the caliber. Was there an SRT version of it available?

My first thought as well.

Agh! Beat me to it!

Remember the simpsons episode where homer chases after flanders? Maude shouts, "floor it ned!" Flanders replies, "damnit maude, its a geo!!!" HAHAHAHA

"...he also smashed through the rear window to get in the car. What was happening here?"

Are they paying owners only affected by the cobalt recall? Which recall are they specifically talking about?

The Astra VXR is a direct competitor to all of those.

The management. Every single manager from CEO to a floor supervisor needs to be completely let go and replaced with people that have automotive engineering education and experience. Not Management degrees, but engineering degrees. Anyone with a business management degree is limited to toilet cleaning and trash
