I guess I haven't been reading it long enough. I really thought it wasn't a problem to have those surgeries performed on women.

Haha ok then, I'll try to be more attentive to sarcasm from now on.

Like you said, only women carry babies so it does seem like pro-life fanatics are attacking women freedom (and perhaps some are, I don't really have any friends who are pro-life), but if a woman tries to get the actual female equivalent to a vasectomy (tube ligation) nobody bats an eye.

I don't agree with the law, but a vasectomy is not the same thing as an abortion. Neither is masturbation (by the way). Nor abstinence.

I know this is pure flamebait, but fuck it, I'll bite. The irony is that he's getting hit by a bunch of girls on Twitter, while I can't fathom a self-respecting guy (or person in general) that would acknowledge you for five minutes after this. I hope you stay single your whole life and never get to procreate.

Lol too late.

Nobody said he was or wasn't innocent. You can be innocent and accused. I don't see why I wouldn't trust the article for pointing out facts.

Would you leave your sister with someone accused of rape? And remember, the trial is not over yet.

No, anyone can't just be accused of anything. A prosecutor and a court of law must agree that the charges aren't facetious before you get the "title." Saying the charges did stick (i.e., you are in fact accused) does not mean you're not innocent. It means you will now stand the test.

I take part of the blame for not researching the legal definition (in Sweden) of "sex by surprise," although I did read it before.

It's not unnecessary at all if the purpose of the article is to say "this is a shady person." It fits into the larger narrative of "he might have leaked it for other reasons, or he might have been brazen with all this info" (two things stated or at least implied in the article), so this is something worth repeating.

If it's by surprise, consent can't have been given. The "majority of the world" actually sees sex with no consent as rape. What would you call it if a guy "surprised" you with a penis in your butt?

Except you don't have the authority to acknowledge any accusation. A court of law has acknowledged the charges thrown at Assange. If a judge agrees with your accusation of having the world's largest penis then it will be fair game to introduce you as such (accused largest penis holder).

How does stating facts hurt their credibility? Be as much of a fan of Assange as you want, he's still accused of rape.

However weak the case might be (and I doubt you have enough information to make that kind of judgment), it definitely is fair game to say he's been accused of rape. If you'd like to read it as condemning him of rape, it's your problem. The author can't just say "wrongly accused of rape Julian Assange," he wasn't there

Assuming "excuse" was a mistake, how is it a false statement that Assange is accused of rape?

Well said. They're horrible people, and there's definitely proof of their sexism somewhere, but this isn't it.

No worries, happens to the best of us haha. For what it's worth, I do agree with your points.

I didn't say she was overly dramatic, and even she said she was being excessively rude. The underlying points relevant to the thread were good (I don't need to reread it, it will just piss me off again), and they did help me understand a few things but it doesn't mean she wasn't being agressive for no reason.
