These tech terms are not racist nor racially insensitive. I won’t fight anyone over it since it’s a dumb battle, but it’s totally unnecessary and will result in buggy software due to another layer of confusion. Never once in my 18 years of software development did I equate these terms to my race, not even a little.

Part of the reason it looks so small is that the colorful part is the facade. So, there’s a big covered building to the left that is likely housing the Mario Kart ride and part of the Yoshi ride. The Mario Kart ride itself reportedly spans 3 levels with a 4th level being the queue. Bowser’s Castle (bottom left) is the

What took over the Jaws ride (Daigon Alley) was a million times better than that old broken ride and has a ton more traffic. Fallon and Need for Speed were in areas of the park that were straight up dead (and probably still will be after the newness of those rides dies out)

The people saying that this was animal abuse either (a) don’t own cats or (b) treat their cats like actual human babies.

That “throw” seemed really tame. She held up the cat over her head and dropped him on the other side of her chair. Assuming there’s nothing weird about the ground on the other side of her chair, this was nothing for a healthy cat. She didn’t fling it in the air by his neck or something. It was a fine way to move a cat

It’s really irresponsible to post this story with a headline “Rick Fox’s Esports Organization...” along with Rick Fox’s picture. It suggests he’s complicit with the racist remarks when just the opposite is true. If I were him, I’d look into suing you for libel.

For RL the game, I only see this as a positive. Psyonix was having a hard time implementing things to keep this game going. I was worried the game would die a slow death under the weight of their ambitions. With Epic and their millions(billions?), an investment can be made to make sure the game keeps going. That does

I’m with you. I had no idea this was a slur. I’ve never heard it used as one. I’ve only heard it used as a way to imitate the Chinese language. I don't know the context of how it was used in this case. Maybe it was clear dude was using it as a slur, in which case it don't matter what words he used.

OMG, another story about a tweet. What a time to be alive.

I was at the panel at San Diego Comic Con and they definitely played up the 80s nostalgia. The panel opened with Stan Bush playing Touch. Later, the director talked a lot about gen 1 designs at a level that convinced me he was a huge fan of the toys growing up. The Q&A ended with Peter Cullen posing as a fan asking

1) It is called something else. It’s called esports. 2) esports players also dedicate their lives and years of training to their chosen game. So, I better not see any football player claiming that kicking a ball around is an “esport”.

Thanks for bringing this “bro” culture to light. I have some thoughts which I hope will come across as constructive criticism. I got a little lost in the middle when it got into Riot’s definition of what a core gamer was. It seemed like the article lost its focus and was airing complaints unrelated to sexism. I think

I appreciate that the team picture of SUNY Canton’s LoL team is a picture of them smiling. I’m so sick of those corny team pics of esports players trying to look hard.

Saw a video of a demo and it looks like the artwork and flavor text are all tongue-in-cheek, making it seem like this is intended to be a casual game that isn’t meant to be taken too seriously. Of course, that won’t stop people.

By coincidence, I helped a few 65+ people with some minor PC problems after watching Kitboga for the first time. These were smart people who are of a generation that wasn’t accustomed to using computers. For instance, one man has a Master’s degree and is a retired IRS agent. I brought up the scams I saw on Kitboga’s

I think Jeff Gerstmann of GiantBomb.com said it best regarding ArenaNet’s decision - ‘what a chicken-shit move’. ArenaNet employees should immediately begin looking elsewhere for work. Why work for cowards who won’t have your back in a minor social media stirrup?

All these armchair software devs are hilarious. “How is this something Valve anticipated?” One of the dumbest sentences I’ve seen in games “journalism” and another example of why we need scare quotes around “journalism” when it comes to gaming articles.

The hottest take on this: “It’s dumb that this is a story. It’s fucking stupid.” - Jeff Gerstmann of GiantBomb.com

I agree. Let’s get the “power differential” thing out of it. We need to make sure all the young guys reading this get a clear message that being 21 and flirting with a 15/16 year old is not okay. It is being a predator. Throw in sexual flirtation and it is being a sexual predator. Let’s not bog down the simple truth

A week later and he’s at 110!
