It seems like some of you are confusing the story with the story telling. I don’t think people are necessarily saying that her turn for the Mad Queen is unbelievable because it makes for a bad ending. At least that’s not what I believe. I think this outcome is completely possible and believable, so some of you don’t

lol the writers haven’t been doing shit “brilliantly” since they ran out of someone else’s words to tell them what to write.

But the Targaryens who came from Old Valyria all those years ago conquered by being notoriously lenient with those who chose to support them, not by burning everyone, even the innocent. The Tyrells and the Tullys, for instance, are both in the positions they’re in because Aegon the Conqueror granted them their titles

Stolen from Twitter:
Some folks really don’t understand that *foreshadowing is not the same as character development*. Like, just because you hint that something can happen in the future doesn’t mean you don’t have to do the leg work in the story to show how we arrive to that destination.”

“If you thought that turn on Game of Thrones felt rushed, surprising, or like it came out of nowhere...you haven’t been paying attention.”

This is all very apt, and well and good, but it still felt rushed, as has everything from Seasons 7-8. If they had been able to play out the back half of her arc with the pacing and subtlety that they applied to the front half, I suspect less people would be complaining.
