Well, while they do have some "despised" business practices, they also do some cool stuff and make sure everybody knows about it. They do give away games for free from time to time (TF2, Portal) and tend to implement features early enough so people believe they take the consumer interest into consideration (Big

I use the disposable ones on high-use devices for emergencies only, but I've found that even after the device says they're depleted you can put them on TV/Stereo remotes and they still work for at least a couple of months, same goes for some small flashlights.

Exactly my thoughts, yet there is a lot of people who wont put a snack bag in their mouths for sanitary reasons.

But a pretty shitty salary in a country as expensive as Japan. In my country that's a pretty decent income, but that's because living here is way less expensive.

Add the high quality expectations that any japanese has on tech and then put the RROD there and you have a country with no interest for a machine that was unreliable at that time.

Also dont forget the $599 US dollars!. Low PS3 sales at launch in the US are Sonys fault.

But context is a very important part of any statement, without context we start to listen selectively and we are prone to misjudge people. there are 2 ways to read what "prince jarhead" said, and honestly I believe he meant his experience in videogames made him proficient in his job, nothing else.

I dont have a problem with free market practices, but I do have a problem when companies try to ripp off their consumers. Let's just agree to disagree because Im taking the ethic road and you're making valid points regarding the status quo, that's just a pointless argument between "what it should be" and "what it is",

Physical copies are the competition and there are a lot of sellers giving you gears almost for free. And yes, there is wrongdoing in pricing, the fact that is a common practice doesn't justify it.

"has a much higher install rate than the PS3, and thus more people willing to pay higher prices"

The fact that is common doesn't justify it. Im not gonna go with the Steam argument 'cause we all Know PC games are usually cheaper, and PS+ is nice, but I wont go there. however, check this out:

A couple of questions if I may: is it Drop-in/Drop-out?, online coop or "shared couch" only?

I tend to judge games based on genre and I'm picky when it comes to RPGs and FPS. But there are two things that IMO are simply unforgivable: a lousy control scheme (badly designed or simply unresponsive), and long (mandatory) linear sequences on open world games.

Thank you!. Your comment pretty much sums up what I was about to say. And the sad part is that a lot of people uses the "is art" argument as a shield to protect every single piece of crap we see today.

I only got them to play with motion controls, but my dad (81) really enjoys watching me play, especially open world games (his favorites are AC games and the Batman: Arkham series).

Well, I guess most of us are in the same situation. The important thing is that when we hate (if we hate) we hate with the precise snobbery depending on the specific group we're representing. ;)

Well, you missed a beautiful punctuation mark. XD

Exactly, they're tools, but since they have bigger destructive power than an axe, we could agree on the gun control part you mentioned.
