Thanks for the article. I myself went from 50k in bad debt and a divorce to no credit card debt, one car loan (by choice not necessity). You’re absolutely correct that emergency funds and no/minimal debt really take the stress off and is absolutely worth the effort to get there.

I’ve owned the 6 and 7 R (and 7GTI). The 7 R is the bees knees as they say. It is neigh porsche/bmw feeling of invulnerability/uber car.

my VW Golf (granted its an R) has a nicer leather and interior than the entry level 3 series. He’s not wrong.

Doug - These are the same clowns wanting 10k ‘market adjustment’ for the Golf R. Cynthia just needs to find a better dealer. I had to go to more than one for my first R. p.s. the 7 is even more excellent than the 6, but, as Patrick says, its not a Carrera GT.

correction, the 2015 Golf R is made in Germany as well. Puebla isn't able to do all wheel drive for the golf r (YET)

I'd be pounding on this point regardless. Parents shouldn't leave an infant in the car, period. If the kid were 8 it'd be a different story. They can open doors if they're hot or step outside the car in an emergency.

in 2009 I bought a Scion XB. The first dealer had a mandatory 'toyota protection package' of $750 and was non negotiable. They "all came that way" according to the sales manager.

Traded my mk6 R for a e90 M3 with comp package as you described. Long story short, I'm on the list to pickup the new mk7 R as soon as it's in.

Jason - This is pretty terrifying. I fly every week, though on a different airline, and have yet to see this. I hope I don't! It's awful they'd treat a human being that way without any facts. Also, I fly out of RDU and have cars! Small world.
