To me that’s what we should be thinking about with these. If they really are getting that cheap and disassembly is relatively easy without ruining the frame or losing some structural integrity then these could make an awesome kit car platform. Hell, companies like Smyth Performance are turning Jettas into truck bed…

Totally agree, the beltline is higher suggesting that a taller engine like a V6 is in there instead of the flat four. Bigger wheels and tires for sure as you already mentioned. Plus, it honestly looks kind of Supra-ish...

I work for a small manufacturing company. It literally takes an army of engineers (mechanical, RF, design, materials and manufacturing) to bring a product to market, then it takes accountants, marketing and sales people to actually figure out a way to realize revenue.

Not liking the grungy yellow and tan. How hard would it have been to make quilted texture body armor like what he wears and why not have a dark brown or dark brownish red. Looks like he is wearing a suit made out of old and dirty, yellow dishwashing gloves.

I always saw it as a very deep red rather than brown, but I guess it depends on the colorist? Either way, the new look is very much a lighter color than usual.

I honestly appreciate his interest in modding cars and making his coachbuilding company work. He (allegedly) employs a bunch of people in a poor neighbourhood and it’s nice to see an influential guy show interest in the car industry. But jeebers crabst, his cars are hideous.

I’m happy for Will.I.Am that he has the funds and connections to indulge his hobby as a “car designer”, ‘cos he’d never make a living doing it.
