My first episode of Community was the Psychology of Letting Go, which has a pretty conventional sitcomy set-up. I didn't particularly care for it. After hearing how much Community was the greatest TV show of all time from my friends, I gave it a second chance with Remedial Chaos Theory.

Say what will about Michael Caine doing anything for a paycheck, when he wants to, he will take the role SERIOUSLY. Trying to act against non-human actors is incredibly difficult (just look at the Star Wars prequels for evidence of failing to do it right) but Caine handles it with aplomb in a role everyone knows.

I think this review misses something about Gustave H. While he CONSIDERS himself a gentleman of an earlier age, the point of the story chain that starts in the modern era is that the common decency he represents can always be found in a person. Gustave thinks he's doing it because of the "earlier age" and Zero thinks

I've enjoyed enough of their work that I"m perfectly happy for the Broken Lizard guys have a legitimate gig. Especially since it's on TBS and that means I'll never have to watch it.

The Rankin/Bass version of the Hobbit clocked in at a lean 77 minutes, was faithful to the novel, and still found time for MUSICAL NUMBERS.
