The only truly good scene is when General Morgan Freeman leads a squadron of attack helicopters against the downed UFO and gives him men a "Kill those motherfuckers" pep talk.  It's good because, hey, Morgan Freeman.

TRANCERS II isn't that good but it's better than the ones where Jack goes to some medieval world, aka Romania.  And the final one, where Thomerson isn't even in it except for stock footage.  Christ.

It might not be fair, but it's true.  A time travel mission to 1989 to convince Linklater to avoid being a filmmaker might do the world some good, if it prevents Smith's rise.  It's a trade-off.

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY created that market.  That was a smash hit.  Smith's movies have usually been profitable but never big hits.  Not once.

Linklater is to blame for Smith's career, though.  He made SLACKER and Smith realized if that cat could make a flick like that and be a director than a dude like him could ALSO become a flick-making cat.
