That’s probably why they aren’t offering the Si in a hatch. So people will buy this less attractive and more expensive car. Damn you Honda.

I’d like to know why TF it isn’t as attractive as the new Civic Si and why Honda doesn’t offer the Civic Si in a hatch and finally why they don’t offer it in a color that isn’t stupid a metallic paint. Thanks in advance!

What incredibly sad horse and pony show will Acura implement at this media event in an attempt to convince you this car is even slightly worth anyone’s attention?

I had no idea tickets were so cheap.  I’ve been wanting to get to Indy for the race for quite some time.  I’ve seen F1 prices and just assumed these were going to be higher than I could stomach as well.

To be fair, it’s a very similar trend with the Mustang GT.

I felt the same way about the front end at first but it really is a throwback to the original 240z’s square mouth, so I’m not complaining.

Whichever aftermarket Nissan supporter comes out with a good LSD and brake set for under $5k will make a killing.

The Supra is very small inside. You are better off trying a GT86 or the new Z. Both have roomier interiors.

It also feels more honest than the Supra. I don’t always hate badge-engineered cars, but part of the mythos around Toyota in general and previous Supras specifically was a vehicle built in Japan, The Toyota Way, and an engine that was overbuilt for the task, leading to long life and/or fantastic support for

Not sure if you’ve paying attention to Z prices for the past 12 years...

I mean with pretty much unanimous reviews supporting this being both better and cheaper than the Supra, what exactly do you have in mind as a car that beats out the Z as best japanese sports car?

Really? Nissan has never really done that, why would they start with this one?

You’d think so (re: the wheel), but I had both a 350 and G37, and didn’t notice it at ALL on either - it’s just to the right a bit. Contrary point - the tilt from dead straight on the Gen 5 Camaro drives me nuts, and I’ve never gotten used to it after 10 years with my ZL1 (it’s angled towards the drivers door).

Yeah... I had a good 4" of rearward seat travel left, but I think you’d run into a headroom problem. When I drove the track portion with a helmet on, I had to adjust the seat down to keep from grazing the headliner. But it might be worth test-fitting it! I don’t think there’s any chance in hell you’d fit in a Supra,

Sorta. There are only 2 trims and no individual options. You either get the base model with 18" wheels, cloth seats, smaller touchscreen, etc. etc., or you get the Performance model, with all the luxury/tech doodads plus 19s, bigger brakes, and LSD. One assumes Nissan did this to get a model in under $40,000 while

IMO going to the twin turbo engine is a step back in terms of engagement and “rawness”

This weird double-speak from the author is particularly strange, in light of the old NA engine having a 7500rpm redline:

I’m of the opinion that more manufacturers should have long term platforms and models, it’s kinda insane how often most change designs and radically update platforms. It would be so much better for everyone if a decade of manufacturing a model were the norm. You have the opportunity to continually improve a

Nothing wrong with heavily revising an already good chassis. I bet that if the S2000 chassis was still around as new today, very few would be complaining that it still exists. And realistically, no one should be complaining. It’s either a heavily revised chassis. Or nothing at all. Your choice, haters.

Bob, if I’m the marketing manager @ Nissan charged with this launch, the title of this short article of yours gets framed and put in my wall. For the bean counters, marketing team, and even to the Z design/engineering teams (though I suspect to a lesser extent), it’s the punchline which epitomizes the exact desired

This is great to hear. You know, it’s funny. For the last decade, I wrote off the Z line as boring, cheap, common, and outdated. But when I heard the 370 was finally getting put out to pasture, I came to realize that by virtue of being old and unchanged, the Z line had become something special and increasingly rare: a
