Technically, the Mustang was first in that department by a decade. The IRS in both of the available pushrod “American” pony cars is only thanks to imported DNA.

Pretty sure all HICAS operates like that- at low speeds it gives 1 degree opposite followed by 1 degree in turning direction. Higher speeds are all 1 degree same as fronts. The speed threshold is much lower than 60mph IIRC. Not sure when Skylines switched to electric actuation, though. R32 is hydraulic actuator.
probably already stated, but ..HIgh Capacity Active Suspension..HICAS. Technically, R32 has Super HICAS. Incidentally, almost everything listed in the HICAS Wikipedia entry is absolutely incorrect.
Looking forward to the improvements! Probably too late for any constructive input, but that infographic NEEDS to have curb weight included. Torque and rpm numbers are essential too, but fairly pointless without curb weight.
There are definitely some spots where you can open it up. I played a game of triple digit tag for the last half hour of that trip before entering Pittsburgh one time. With a 300zx Turbo (Z32) who was towing a small cargo trailer. Above 100mph. Well above. I don’t mention the trailer when boasting that my old Saab…
Congrats! I was afraid that your GT-R’s acceleration would be a let down after owning a 360, so am quite relieved that is not the case. The engine is un-modded, correct?
From what I’ve noticed, turn signals must be a very expensive option on newer Bimmers as well!
mine too!
springs were definitely different between 2 seater and 2+2. Even different trim levels used different part #s for springs.
add 2-300 pounds to the z31 weights. At least for North American spec. I had the heaviest US spec 1985 model available (2+2 Automatic GL-L). Was over 3200# wet. 1986 models were definitely heavier, and I believe the most massive of Z31s.
Definitely an 86. Fender flares and rockers (and thinner, body colored door/fender guards) are the giveaway. Scoop either added or hood swapped.
if the difference was actually .02 (probably not), that close to a free 10 mph at those speeds.
With “Lotus” on the title,lol
Saabaru?
Aren’t Mustang manual trannies still sourced from China?
Keep in mind that every engine you're comparing the GM 3.1 V6 to uses a 4 (or 5 in the Passat's case) valve head, while the GM is a 2 valve pushrod design. The low and mid range torque produced by the 3.1 was more competitive than the peak power numbers suggest. It was definitely a horrible engine (poor reliability…
If they were RWD they'd be Mustangs, lol.
Yes, because SAE and Automotive Engineering Magazine are "personal forums". Please don't post bullshit again, and I won't call you on it!
How did I err in the first place? You're telling me you ARE a Mopar guy? Do you have any links to support your statements? You surely seemed to originally claim that there was no LC platform !?! Are you still asserting that "There isn't even any actual shortening of the Challenger"??? Or is your "manufacturer" info…
Not a Mopar guy, huh?
