She’s treated a lot like how Serena Williams is treated. Williams has been called a man by so many people and so has Michelle. I’m wondering if it is because both women are black, strong and athletic. That racist can’t stand their mix of strength and power so they deny their womanhood.

I am a native Austinite who moved to East Austin last year precisely because I am priced out of any non-gentrifying decent housing within an hour’s commute. I live less than 3 miles from my job and due to the terrible city planning it still takes me 45 minutes to get home some days. I’m renting the cheapest back house

“German culture, Irish and Italian culture, etc” All of which is also insulted and attacked.

I’m just here to say I think it’s kind of adorable that you think hipster-ism is a new thing from only the past 20 yrs. /nosnark

I’d say it’s not “white” culture; it’s usually more based around ethnic backgrounds (Italian-Americans have a specific culture, as do Irish-Americans).

If you mean Irish culture or German culture or Italian culture, etc. sure, I can get behind that. But I’d be curious to hear what “white culture” is.

I remember my friends that grew up around there said the movie Dangerous Minds was based on the hs there. We didn’t have google then so I never looked it up but that’s always what I think about when I hear of the EPA.

turns out people do a lot better when you integrate them into a community and make them part of something. instead of isolating them in cinderblock prisons like a bunch of animals.

yeah… when most people think about public housing they think of high rises on the south side of Chicago. everything now is mixed residential/commercial space and even in some places mixed market rate and affordable units. and buildings don’t go up too high or have too many isolate places where police can’t patrol and

I agree to an extent. Many educated white people moved to these neighborhoods because even though they have an education, they can’t afford to live in the “better” neighborhoods. They don’t want to see a Starbucks on every corner any more than everyone else who lives there and is barely making ends meet. Now, the

the affordable housing community has learned a lot in the past 30 years. new affordable housing developments that have gone up in the past 10 years have mostly been very successful. if they’re done right.

I’m of two minds about this. Fair disclosure, I’m male, but also a physician. On the one hand, making it easier for women to have ready access to contraception is a plus. However, there are real risks involved with oral contraceptives; the main one from my perspective (as an emergency medicine doc) is that they are

Don’t get it confused now. His supporters were mostly uneducated white women. If the entire election were up to women as a whole - Hillary would have won.

This is why I reject the critique that liberals focus too much on ‘social issues’. Inexpensive birth control and access to legal abortions have huge impacts on the economy!

Forgot a couple of White women:

Hey, remember that time the Democrats created the KKK?

Yeah. I actually don’t think that misogyny is the full picture, either.

People like the ACA, except when you call it Obamacare. People are also fucking idiots.

I have always hated that! As if they’re the first one to have ever mentioned online dating to you.

Exactly this! I recently got into a relationship, after a long time being single and the relief that my friends and family felt was really annoying. Like there was something fundamentally wrong with how I had been living before, which wasn’t how I felt about it at all.
