Gen 7 was actually the exception. It's the *only* generation where all the starters were officially revealed before the games came out. Every other gen they've either been leaked promotional art or ripped from the game files as soon as the game is available. So as unfortunate as it is, this is very normal.

They can’t really delay the game. There’s a huge ecosystem of anime, movies, and the card game. Delaying the game means all the promotional stuff turns into a trainwreck. 

It would print money, but it isn't quite as simple as them just deciding to do it. Snap was a spinoff game developed by a couple of distinct studios, and at least one of the studios is defunct/splintered now, so tracking down the rights to remake it would be a big headache.

The difference is that 6 months ago he was running against a republican. Literally anyone blue would have been a miracle in that slot, and Beto got damn close.
