Someone already did, but that comment has been dealt with.

I go with shitty and lazy about the first doctor. I mean, it was basically total disregard of my concerns. I'm not surprised or really upset that she didn't go 'maybe it's PCOS' — its not a particularly well known or understood disorder — but I am sort of miffed that she allowed me to suffer in pain without trying to

It was really shocking, like a slap to the face. I remember repeating it thinking maybe she misheard me, but no. I clearly was just having carpal tunnel syndrome from being fat. I don't think CT even manifests with the same set of symptoms!

I just wrote this in response to a comment, but I'll leave it here to add some personal experience.

I think maybe you're mistaking what people complain about when they say doctors are 'shitty' to fat people. It means that their concerns are not taken seriously, that any issue they come to the doctor about can be overlooked because of their weight, and even people who are perfectly healthy — by medical standards,

Someone else posted a quote from another article about this and the mother DID drive to the CVS from one direction while the cops came from another.

I'm well aware. :)

I had the same thought — there's a CVS near us with a woods behind it. I can't imagine I would have just called the police and then waited around to see if they caught them/found my kid. Those poor girls.

I would imagine that would be the reason. It's a lot less noticeable to text if you're afraid of the attacker coming back after you or ripping the phone away.

I am so glad to hear that.

My daughter is the same age. I don't usually have physical reactions to these kinds of news stories, but reading that line was like getting gut punched.

"Thomas was finally apprehended soon after he abducted three teenage trick-or-treaters in 2009, raping two of them before one managed to text her mom "Man raping my friend in the woods behind CVS call 911."

Oh, we are. There tends to be a certain look that dominates. :)

I went to a fair number of onsens in Japan. I got stared at too, but I never felt it was done meanly. For the record, I'm tall, heavy set, with lots of tattoos. It was obvious to me that people were just curious.

They'd totally show that movie on Lifetime. It'd never get made into a Hollywood blockbuster.

If KStew thinks that the really problematic part of the relationship is where Bella turns into a vampire, she hasn't paid a lick of attention to the books or movies.

If your picture is of Madonna, your screen name is madonna, and your @name is a play on Madonna's nickname, its pretty clear you're impersonating/making fun of Madonna. Stars tend to be pretty testy about that.

They posted on a public forum. In public. Publicly. There's a chance that someone with a mental illness already read it. In fact, given the statistics, someone with a mental illness already has. Mental illness/= violence

Yes, you did. Allow me to quote your post:

The fact that you're assuming that they're going to be victims of violence at the hands of their 'black classmates' is incredibly troubling.
