It was really shocking, like a slap to the face. I remember repeating it thinking maybe she misheard me, but no. I clearly was just having carpal tunnel syndrome from being fat. I don't think CT even manifests with the same set of symptoms!

I had the same thought — there's a CVS near us with a woods behind it. I can't imagine I would have just called the police and then waited around to see if they caught them/found my kid. Those poor girls.

I would imagine that would be the reason. It's a lot less noticeable to text if you're afraid of the attacker coming back after you or ripping the phone away.
