My aunt dated an Olympic diver when I was a kid and the family still says 'Remember when D dated that diver?' as we make people watch the diving competition.

Oh, yeah, all examples listed are personal experiences. I'm a heavy movie goer and I used to work for AMC (free passes), so I've probably been to more movies than your average bear. The smoking and drunk ones all happened when I lived in a college town. I didn't even mention the time a middle schooler threatened me

I thought she did fine within the genre, but the role didn't demand too much of her emotionally. I think she's compelling — she's beautiful, she has a certain something that makes her interesting to watch, and she's certainly physically competent. I'd watch her in another movie. Hell, lack of dramatic range has hardly

You're correct on number 1 — there's a couple of other women in my sister's circle of friends who have said he did the same thing to them. I don't know how well know that is, though. BioSis told me about it. As for number 2, I had to make the decision not to shut them out of my life so that I could still be around my

As stated many times over the years, Jezebel does not use trigger warnings.

I am actually watching it right at this moment.

I totally agree. I have seen people making prison rape jokes on Jez, but almost inevitably they'll get some blowback about it. Rape isn't a corrective punishment and it's not justice. It's a horrible violation and no human being should have to suffer it, no matter what they did in their lives.

I'm so sorry for you. Its incredibly.. disheartening, disillusioning, heartbreaking .. to have your own sibling say something like that about you. Or your sister.

Touche!

It can be. I haven't worked as a booth babe, but I used to staff my company's booth at comic cons, and on your feet for hours while people ask you the same questions over and over again is not the fun you might think it is. About the only perk is the free admission.

Yeah, it's really awful. After hearing what her mother said, it was no surprised to me that she grew up with that attitude. I try hard to lead by example, but she's a lot cause. So I try to be a good example to my niece instead.

I think that the police office who told women to 'stop dressing like sluts and they won't get raped', which sparked last spring's slutwalks, is an excellent example of rape culture.

There is a part of me that wonders if he went for StepSis just to cause chaos. I mean, he knew she was our sister. Why date her even if what she said wasn't true? There is no scenario there that doesn't bread chaos.

It wasn't just StepSis — her mother also came down on the rapist guy. She said as well 'when you dangle a carrot in front of a horse eventually it gets bit' in reference to my sister being attacked. But yes, Sis and StepSis are the same age. They were basically best friends before all this happened.

Just from the posters description, it doesn't sound like there was any way her father would have found out about it without her telling him for a reason. I mean, maybe it was because they got in a fight and she told her dad about blowing a guy in a closet to rile him up. We have no way of knowing. But it seems a

I understand that's what he says she said, but we don't know if that's what she said or if that's what she meant.

I wouldn't call it rape, but it's a sexual assault. We can only go by his account, but reading between the lines — she wanted to stop giving him the blow job (she asks him twice if she can stop), and he tells her to 'get on her knees' instead of backing off. Given that no one got caught and there were no witnesses and
