10? Reality tv has been around for a long time — Real World has been on since 1992, and they weren't even the first in the genre. I agree with your other point — the kind of personality that is courted for these types of shows probably isn't the same kind of personality that is grounded and stable.

Exactly.
In my experience it was the opposite for the girls I knew who got pregnant on purpose. It's not that they had so much love to give, but they wanted desperately to feel loved. They thought having a baby would mean at least one person would love them.
