Yep. She was the human descendant of Julian, fell in love with a Brujah, and then was forcibly turned in front of him by a different clan. Every time I see her I say 'Hey, it's that red headed actress from Kindred!' (She's on Army Wives now.)

I was a fan of that show. The episode where they visit the town where all the souls are stored in a giant server under the city always stuck with me.
I thought that the inclusion of the revolt in 11 was a great addition to the world building. It drove a lot of points home about the purpose and place of the Games.
I'll grant you that Katniss should have looked more starved in the bread scene, but the tributes spend the time leading up to the games basically being stuffed full of food so they don't look starved and malnourished on screen. It's part of the trick of it. And the career tributes would have never looked weak anyway —…
She's a natural blonde who went dark for the movie, while Peeta is a natural brunette who had to go blonde.
There is a good deal of objectification, but the characters in Sucker Punch and the characters in Underworld or Resident Evil occupy much different spaces, purposes, and ultimately fates. I don't believe its a good comparison.
I wouldn't exactly call this the best written piece on the issue, but the author seems to be looking at franchises with big budgets and big opening pushes. To that end, she's correct — this will be one of the largest budgeted franchises built around a female heroine.
I believe this the real point of the post, unfortunately clouded by the title:
Given that you haven't watched the Underworld series, that comparison is pretty solidly off base.
Her main point is the size of the budget and the size of the opening weekend — the title is misleading. (I also immediately thought of Ripley, plus Alice from Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, and Terminator, just to name a couple.)
Us fatties don't deserve nice things! We should be wearing horsehair shirts and flagellating ourselves at every turn for being too lazy to be skinny!
I'd wondered the same. Feldman would be in a place to know intimately the story about Barrymore — they were good friends (and dated, if I recall) about the time of the pregnancy accusation.
Don't forget she was also in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen with LiLo.
Saldana didn't exactly come out of nowhere. She's been a steadily working actress for years and has been in a lot of big name properties. This big push for her is almost certainly attributed to the back-to-back appearances in Star Trek and Avatar, both massive blockbusters.
The part where you see the dog waiting for him as the seasons change? Ugh. Killer.
Every single time I see the BVTS episode, 'The Body'. Weep like a baby.
Me too! The first time I saw it I was really young and didn't get a lot of the historical context, but that scene made me burst into tears. I still cry every time I see it.
That's what I'm sort of assuming — at some point the virus went airborn and now everyone's infected. It just seems weird that the CDC knew that, considering how soon it was after the attacks and how isolated he was. They just seem to have a hard time keeping track of their own internal world building — the zombie…
But they also came across dead bodies who hadn't risen — Carl pulls those weapons from the dead guy in the traffic jam. I don't recall seeing any sort of brain injury on him. So what about those?
They're still around. There's a store front church down the street from me and they give them out every Halloween. I steal them out of my daughter's bag.
