I was thinking further about the problems with the rape interpretation of the song and it occurred to me that everyone reads between the lines to understand its a song about sex, but reading between the lines to get that she actually wants it seems to be missed.

Except that it's not about rape. It's about a woman negotiating the expectations of her society versus her own desires. The what's in the drink line? A common phrase in pop culture of the time it was written that was short hand for someone (not just women) doing something they want to do versus what they're "allowed"
