Newlin can glamor Jason into inviting him in though. Franklin did that with Tara, and we know Jason can be glamored because Pam did him in season 1.

Re b: I assumed he was a ghost, given the day, the kind of episode, and Terry saying 'I heard you were dead'. They've seeded in new characters at the end of the earlier seasons as well, to lead into the next.
Yep. True Blood is a summer show.
I don't know if Holly is really an Amelia replacement — she's one of Sookie's friends in the book series as well. If anything, I think Amelia is (maybe) redundant because of Tara, who is a much more fleshed out friend on tv. You know. If she's not dead. (Not that that matters.)
Debbie is also a were-fox in the books (not a spoiler if you're planning on reading them). The were/shifter community is much more diverse in the books and includes some intermarrying (which Debbie claims doesn't happen in the show). I can see why they want to streamline it for a television show.
"For example, many on Jezebel would say that someone who is against abortion, who believes that a fetus is a human person from the moment of conception, is not a feminist."
I don't think it's necessary to be an activist in order to be a feminist. Not everyone has the luxury of time, money, or energy to spend in the public sector and that's a-ok. Aside from your situation at work (and I've been there, trust), do you believe in the basics — that you are not a second class citizen just…
I don't think I became aquainted with the term 'womanist' until I was in college (uh, a while ago). It's not as mainstream as the term 'feminist', obviously. It is primarily adopted by WoC to address the fact that mainstream feminism has a really awful history of leaving out the concerns of minority women and I…
Touche, sir.
I almost mentioned womanist in my response, but I find that people who don't claim the label 'feminist' for considered reasons usually state it as 'I don't chose to label myself a feminist' or don't even bother to differentiate unless it comes up.
I saw them in Target just recently.
By the way, to answer your first question, it's hit or miss. There's some drugstore finds that are awesome, there are some Sephora-carried brands that are expensive for the sake of being expensive. I know that's not a definitive answer, but there's a lot to be said for personal preferences.
I've noticed it quite a bit around here, sometimes from regular commenters. I know that technically Jez isn't a feminist website (I like to call it 'feminist informed') but why would you hang out with a bunch of lesbian shitasses enough to get a star if you don't consider yourself a feminist?
Edit: I should clarify that Tara was raised Christian, even if, as you pointed out, she considers herself an atheist.
I'm predicting it's a side effect of Marnie's vamp summoning powers. Or, alternatively, Alcide's construction company cut corners with some truly subpar concrete.
Zombies came up earlier in the season too. I hope they don't make her Zombie Tara. They have a hard enough time with the mythology as it is. In fact, as much I think it's the shaft for the character, I kind of hope she just plain stays dead. That is a show that needs to start killing off it's main characters, like,…
Tara said that because she's Christian. Marnie is not. So why would she go to a Christian afterlife? I think we're supposed to understand that where spirits are going is a little less denominational. Otherwise I would have thought that Antonia would have specifically said 'heaven'.
Boo on Jessica and Jason. I have to agree with Hoyt — Jason is a selfish fucker who only thinks with his dick. He wants to do the right thing, he's inclined to do the right thing, but he falls short. I mean, going by the timeframe of the show, it hasn't even been a week since they were broken up.
1 — It's been established that Jesus can identify people's vibrations/auras by touch, as he felt Marnie's vibration in an earlier episode. That's why he looked shocked when he touched Lala's hand.
Tara sided with Marnie when Eric's memory was erased and Pam's rotting spell was put on her. Bill specifically ordered Pam to never harm Tara, ever.
