I believe your state lawmakers are working on an optional enhanced driver’s license that complies with federal law. Alternatively, you also might want to consider getting a passport card. No need to worry about losing your real passport if you’re just traveling inside the U.S., or driving to Canada.

Maybe instead of buying from a carrier, you should buy an Android phone straight from the manufacturer, like Motorola, or a Nexus device off of store.google.com. Then you wouldn’t have that problem.
