Actually its the other way around, it is not that the moderate Muslims ignore the violent part of Islam, but it is the extremists who exaggerate it <i> and ignore </i> the peaceful parts of Islam.

Although there are cases where people are ‘murdered for not being hardcore enough’ that is far from the norm. Just look at Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, all the Gulf Countries to just name a few. The murder rate is lower than in the USA, and in many cases they have a higher quality of life than many ‘non-islamic’ states.

I think you are missing the point here, she Kate is obviously NOT against someone who speaks out against the horrifying past that Ayaan Ali has had. But she IS highlighting that people who claim to be Muslims have done these hateful acts, NOT all muslims are evil. It is like saying Christianity is inherintley evil…
