The NC Miata with the Power Retractable Hard Top (PHRT). The top folds completely out of the way (unlike the RF) and doesn’t take up any more storage space than the soft top.   As a NC PRHT owner I’m very disappointed by the Miata RF.

Bought a 2012 Miata SE back in 2016.   The jump in used car prices make the current price for a 2012 Miata SE the same or more than what I paid.

I feel like I’m living in an automobile nervana right now - at least relative to all of the vehicles I’ve owned over the last 45 years. The other cars I’ve owned I remember them best for their quirks or events in my life that the car played a role.

The big problem for Lucid is that the conventional car manufacturers are getting serious about EVs - they don’t have the “grace” period that Tesla had.   Even Tesla will have a rough time in the future once there is a large enough charging network to compete with Tesla’s supercharger network.

Silvercar - best rental experience ever.....

I’ve driven a Taurus MT-5 wagon.   It was so slow that it was scary.

I’ve joked in the past that the “E” in the future NE Miata will stand for electrification.  And if they get 10 years out of the ND like they did out of the NC that would put the NE coming out in 2026.....

People in their 20's and 30's call CUV/SUVs “mommy mobiles”.

Some call it the Cadavalier.

Bought a 2012 Miata in 2016. Checked the current used prices for 2012 Miatas and it’s about the same as what I paid 5 years ago. And not only are the cars 5 years older but also have around twice the mileage.

Vehicles modified like that cannot see Miatas and other small cars in front of them.  It’s one thing if the driver puts themselves in danger - it’s another when they endanger other drivers.

The Taycan is also a smaller car the the Panamera, with less legroom in the rear seats and less luggage space.

Bought a 2012 Miata in 2016. Because of all the noise about high used car prices I checked to see how my cars value has held up. The current price for a 2012 Miata is the same as what I paid back in 2016.

AAA ran some tests on some cars and trucks that were “Premium Recommended”. One of the cars was a NC Miata. The difference in power and fuel economy for Premium vs Regular was around 1% or so. And my NC Miata runs fine on regular.

I notice that the poorer resale cars generally had higher initial purchase prices. And the more unusual colors might not be available on the more mainstream cars.

Porsche. As part of Volkswagen/Voltswagen you would think that they could get ahold of whatever batteries they need.

On the other hand, easily swapped batteries are easily stealable.

The best way to save money on car repairs is to buy the top level trim on a mainstream market car.

Take an Alltrack.   An ECU flash, IS38 turbo, and big downpipe and you’ve got over 300 HP.   Lower the suspension and add in some Golf R variant suspension parts.     Now you’ve got essentially a Golf R variant.
