I bought shitty used cars with cash until I was financially able to buy new cars with cash.   

I would buy a CT5 wagon before I’d buy a CT5 sedan or any Cadillac crossover/SUV. But I just can’t see spending $40K or more for a vehicle. So yes, I’m a cheap SOB - but I’ve bought 4 wagons new, including my current one, a 2019 manual Alltrack.

Many items in the grocery store will get back to normal - there is only so much room in the fridge or freezer for perishable food. Foods that make up easy to cook meals (pasta, eggs, hamburgers, hot dogs, frozen meals) will stay in high demand at least until the restaurants fully open back up.   But things will slow

While the average length of a loan for a new car is now 70.6 months, the average length of a loan for a used car is 67.8 months, and a much higher interest rate.  For cars that have little to no factory warranty left.

Conversely, the winters in the DC area are so mild that all season tires are good enough for 99% of the people.   And the few times we get hit hard everything shuts down.

Cheap gas is already here. Big SUVs and trucks get better fuel economy than in the past. At this point, bigger garages and bigger parking spaces would encourage buying big SUVs and trucks more than getting cheaper gas........

The big problem is that GM tends to do an 80% effort and then phones in the rest.   And GM’s best customers, the “Buy American!” crowd is aging out.
